The organizers of Ultra Marin, a trail organized in the Gulf of Morbihan, experienced a moment of panic this weekend, as reported by

Ouest-France

.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, they gave the alert to report the disappearance of a runner.

After checking in at a checkpoint located about fifteen kilometers from the finish on Saturday at the end of the afternoon, the participant has in fact never crossed the line.

Significant resources were then dispatched to try to find him.

The gendarmes first tried to reach him on his cell phone.

In vain because his phone was off and was geolocated at the port of Arzon near Vannes.

Hours of field research for nothing

It was only around 8 a.m. Sunday morning, after several hours of research in the field, that the individual picked up his phone directly from a hotel in Larmor-Baden where he had just spent the night quietly.

After having abandoned the trail, the participant had indeed not warned the organizers as required by the regulations.

On the registration form, he had also noted his own telephone number in the box of persons to contact in case of emergency.

The story thus ends well even if the gendarmes have it a little bad to have carried out research for nothing.
