Tropical storm 'Elsa' made landfall on the southern coast of Cuba on the night of the 4th and is pouring rain toward the central coast.

Elsa was downgraded from a Category 1 hurricane to a tropical storm on the 3rd, but as she strengthened her powers again, she approached the coast of Cuba, foreign media reported.

According to the National Hurricane Center in the United States, Elsa is moving northwest at a speed of 24 kilometers per hour, with a maximum wind speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

Cuban authorities have urgently evacuated 180,000 local residents who are expected to be affected in case of a torrential downpour.

The US National Hurricane Center predicted that Elsa would gradually weaken as it passed through central Cuba until the morning of the 5th local time, but could rise again as it approaches the Florida coast on the morning of the 6th.

As a result, a state of emergency was declared in 15 cities in Florida, and in the Miami area, where apartments collapsed at the end of last month, the remaining parts that did not collapse were hastily demolished due to fears of further collapse following Elsa's approach.
