From today until 9 August, passengers between Stockholm and Uppsala can count on slightly longer travel times, this as a result of track work between Stockholm Central and Solna.

The Swedish Transport Administration writes this on its website.

It is the expansion of the Mälar line that affects traffic on the stretch, but it should only be a matter of a few minutes, according to SJ's press service.

The Stockholm-Västerås route is also affected, as passengers can take a bus between Stockholm and Bålsta and then board the train on to Västerås.

- The Mälar line is being expanded from two to four tracks between Stockholm and Kallhäll, and this has been going on for several years, so I do not think it will be a surprise for travelers, says Dan Olofsson at SJ's press service.
