Now tourists can visit the country if they have a negative PCR test for coronavirus or a vaccination certificate.

Deputy Director General of the Police and Border Guard Board Egert Belichev noted that checking the documents of tourists creates an additional burden on the employees of the department.

“Prominent vaccination certificates in Estonia have a QR code that can be scanned to quickly check the accuracy and relevance of the data.

Third-country nationals often issue certificates on paper and without security elements, the authentication of which is difficult and time-consuming, ”he said.

Vaccination against COVID-19 in Estonia for residents over 16 years old began on May 17.
