Regarding the issue of foreign capital regulation violations by satellite broadcasting related company "Tohokushinsha" and "Fuji Media Holdings" which owns Fuji TV, the business operator was in a state of violation at the time of application for certification and after certification. It has been pointed out that the issue was that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications did not notice.



In response to this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has put together immediate countermeasures to strengthen the examination system.



According to this, when accepting applications for certification or license from the business operator, it is obligatory to report on all foreign capital, and even after certification, it is required to submit materials on foreign capital ratio and nationality of officers on a regular basis.



The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications hopes to revise the necessary government ordinances by the end of the year after soliciting opinions on these countermeasures through public comments.
