The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) considered Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz's threats of "new military action" in Gaza "an attempt to restore the image of his army."

Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem told Anadolu Agency that Gantz's statements are an attempt to restore the image of his army, which was greatly shaken by the resistance's performance in the Battle of Seif al-Quds, the last confrontation that took place weeks ago between the Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza and the occupation.

Israel launched an 11-day aggression on the Gaza Strip between May 10 and 21, killing and wounding thousands of Palestinians, while Palestinian factions responded to the aggression by firing thousands of rockets towards all Israeli cities.

Qassem considered these threats "an attempt to sell the illusion to the Zionist public, and that the occupation always resorts to threats of war and aggression, and our people are accustomed to such threats that do not frighten them and do not frighten our resistance."

legitimate struggle

"We are waging a legitimate struggle to recover our rights, land and sanctities, and take away our right to a decent life and freedom, and we will continue to do so despite threats," the Palestinian official added.

And earlier - yesterday - Sunday - Gantz said - in an interview with the private Israeli "Channel 13" - that "the Israeli army will take new military action in Gaza if the incendiary balloons continue to be launched from the Strip."

He added that the continued launching of balloons "will lead us to another confrontation," noting that the army "is working to identify more targets in the Gaza Strip."

According to Israeli media, Palestinians launch incendiary balloons from Gaza towards the settlements adjacent to the Strip, and in response, Israeli planes bombed sites in Gaza.

The Minister of Defense claimed that the recent aggression on the Gaza Strip "has achieved its goals."

And last week, the movement - in a statement by its spokesman, Fawzi Barhoum - held Israel fully responsible for the consequences and consequences of the continued escalation.

Barhoum said, "We trust the wisdom and ability of the Palestinian resistance - particularly the Al-Qassam Brigades (the armed wing of Hamas) - in how to deal with the enemy, confuse its arena, and protect and defend the people."
