Mörfelden-Walldorf

After a violent crime involving a dead 19-year-old young man and his seriously injured father in Mörfelden-Walldorf in the Groß-Gerau district, the background to the crime is still unclear.

“We cannot currently rule out any scenario,” said a spokesman for the Darmstadt public prosecutor's office on Monday.

The 46-year-old father had been operated on and has not yet been able to provide any information.

The 37-year-old mother and wife, who informed the emergency services on Sunday morning, was not an eyewitness.

The autopsy showed that the son was killed with an object.

It is unclear whether there was a dispute between father and son or whether a third party was involved.

Fulda

In the case of the two-year-old Timnit found dead in a sewer, the Fulda public prosecutor assumes a tragic accident.

In the course of the investigation, there were no concrete indications of third-party negligence, the authority announced on Monday.

The death investigation has been set.

The two-year-old left her parents' apartment unnoticed on an evening at the end of November 2020 in wintry weather.

Helpers then searched the area for the little girl.

Eventually, specialist divers discovered the dead child in the canal the following afternoon.

As part of the investigation, the child minders of the toddler were interrogated and the conditions at the residential address were examined, including the sluggishness and ease of movement of doors, the number of landings and the nature of the stairs as well as the height of a chain link fence located behind the property as a demarcation to the Fulda Canal.

Possible passages through the fence and the lighting conditions behind the house were also examined.

The results of the autopsy also supported the assumption of an accident, said the public prosecutor. No signs of violence on the body were discovered, but clear indications of a drowning death.
