Antigenic tests, gauges and sanitary bubbles, the conditions for getting on a cruise ship are very strict.

However, since Sunday some vacationers are very impatient to get on board.

They seem very happy to be able to enjoy the activities on the boat again.

REPORTAGE

It is one of the markers of the awakening of the economy weakened by the coronavirus: the resumption of cruises.

This new stage was launched on Sunday but it is subject to strict conditions.

An antigen test is mandatory on boarding and the capacity of the boats is limited to 70%.

"We live again!"

A coffee and a cigarette on the upper deck of the ship.

Ismaël and Guillem finally relax after a stressful embarkation due to the "somewhat complicated" health protocol.

"We took 3:20 to go up," says one.

The second adds: "frankly, we had to deserve it, but we are on board! We will enjoy for a week: it will be the holidays".

But in the end, cruise passengers do not remember these constraints very much.

"We live again!", Says Claire.

"We were still lucky enough to be able to go to the restaurant and to the theater last night. Things that we had not had the opportunity to do for the last six months. And all this under approved security conditions", she continues.

A sanitary bubble during stopovers

Despite all these precautions, one sensitive point remains: shore excursions during stopovers.

And there, a sanitary bubble applies.

They will be in groups of "25 to 35 people maximum", assures the director of MSC Cruises, Patrick Fourmy.

"The coaches will be completely cleaned. The hostess, the guide, the driver: everyone is tested," he adds.

And recalcitrant passengers are warned: if they leave this sanitary bubble, they will not be allowed to go back on board.
