The ambition from Region Västerbotten has been to be able to keep BB in Lycksele open, but now the department will be closed for three weeks between 26 July and 15 August.

According to Region Västerbotten, all affected parents-to-be will be contacted and offered accommodation in Umeå or Skellefteå in connection with the birth.
