It was 11:20 am this Sunday morning.

A group of cyclists were participating in the usual Sunday outing on Breton roads when a biker came to hit them.

The accident took place at a place called Botpenal, in Saint-Gildas de Rhuys, in the southern part of the Gulf of Morbihan.

Four cyclists were run over by the biker, reports

.

Aged 25, the latter escaped unscathed.

This is not the case with cycle tourists.

A 61-year-old woman was slightly injured.

The emergency services were more worried about the fate of a 73-year-old man, seriously injured and who was evacuated to the Vannes hospital center in an absolute emergency.

The other two affected cyclists were luckier and were not injured.

To overtake cyclists outside urban areas, leave a distance of at least 1.50 m between the vehicle and the bicycle.

An investigation was opened to try to determine the circumstances of the accident.
