Earlier it became known that the border guards of Tajikistan allowed more than 300 Afghan soldiers into the country, who, after "fierce resistance" to the Taliban, were forced to retreat in order to save the personnel.

AFP also reported that the Taliban captured Sherkhan, a border village and river port in Afghanistan on the border with Tajikistan.

As the Russian ambassador to Kabul Dmitry Zhirnov noted, during the withdrawal of the US and NATO military from Afghanistan, the military-political map of the republic was seriously redrawn, the Taliban claim to take control of about 80% of the country.

At the same time, US President Joe Biden said that the Afghan government has sufficient capabilities to withstand the withdrawal of the American military contingent from the country.
