An Air Force transport plane crashed on an island in the southern Philippines on the 4th after failing to land, killing 45 soldiers and others on board.

According to the Philippine Ministry of Defense, on the morning of the 4th, when an Air Force C130 transport plane tried to land at an airport on Jolo Island in the southern part of the Philippines, it crossed the runway and crashed on a hill several kilometers away from the airport. ..

A total of 96 people, including pilots and soldiers, were on board the transport plane, but so far 42 soldiers and 3 residents near the crash site have been confirmed dead, for a total of 45 people.

It also means that the whereabouts of the five soldiers are unknown.

In a photo taken by the Philippine Army, the crashed aircraft is severely damaged in a palm forest, leaving some of its tail wings behind.

The island of Jolo, where the transport plane crashed, and the surrounding islands were strongly influenced by the Islamic extremist organization "Abu Sayyaf," and the soldiers were supposed to take measures against terrorism by these extremist organizations.

The Ministry of Defense says that it is unlikely that the transport aircraft crashed due to an external attack, but we will carefully investigate the cause of the accident.
