03 July 2021 In air transport, a joint protest by the unions Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Ugl Transport Aereo, with the confirmation of the 24-hour general strike for Tuesday 6 July.

"The general strike of all air transport personnel has been confirmed on Tuesday 6 July and will stop for the whole day with garrisons at Fiumicino (Terminal T3 departures from 11), Milan Linate (arrivals floor, NCC parking area from 10) and in the main airports of the country ".

The unitary protest of the unions Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Ugl Transport Aereo is implemented "in defense of the employment of the workers of Alitalia and Air Italy, Blue Panorama, Air Dolomiti and Neos but also Norwegian and Ernest in liquidation and low cost Easyjet, Ryan Air / Malta Air, Wizz Air, Vueling and Volotea, of all foreign airlines based and employees in our country, such as Emirates, airport management companies, handling and catering companies and all seasonal workers and precarious workers in the sector ".

"On

Alitalia

- the trade unions specify that - a discussion table must be convened as soon as possible to discuss the new plan, maintaining current employment levels. For

Air

Italy

, after having averted the layoffs and having extended the layoffs until the end of the year, we now need to work closely with the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility, the Lombardy and Sardinia Regions, the company and liquidators for an industrial solution " In addition, the unions Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Ugl Transport Aereo ask that they be averted "Also the layoffs in

Norwegian

and

Ernest

, two companies in liquidation where the workers are without salary and still without layoffs. The delicate situations of the other companies in our country such as

Blue Panorama

and

Air Dolomiti should

be monitored

, whose workers are under social safety nets. In derogation also the workers of

Easy Jet

. The trade union situation with other low cost companies is more complex, whose activities are recovering and expanding in our country with the summer season but without adopting constructive trade union relations ".

For foreign airlines - the trade unions add - "the Emirates case is emblematic, which on the one hand uses social safety nets but on the other sells cargo activities in our country with the new company that does not intend to apply the national sector contract, contributing to promote social and wage dumping in the sector. Airport management companies, airport handling services and catering to companies are also in serious crisis, due to the decline in activities due to the crisis of the companies, starting with Alitalia. The workers in these activities in layoffs they receive reduced and late payments. To all these workers are added many seasonal and precarious workers whose contracts have not been renewed ". The application of art.203 of the Relaunch Decree on contractual minimums.

"For air transport which is - underline Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Ugl Transport Air - one of the sectors most affected by the pandemic but which has not been considered as one of the activities to which the blocking of layoffs should be extended, is urgently needed, we have been asking for it for months, a permanent inter-ministerial forum and the establishment of a control room to guarantee social stability, ensuring social safety nets and rapidly proceeding with the reform of the sector to guarantee the reorganization of the airport system and the refinancing of the extraordinary fund of air transport ". "If we do not receive answers - finally say the trade unions - further actions will be planned to guarantee a future for the air transport workers of our country".
