The Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Zhangzhou City revealed on the 2nd that Zhangzhou actually used US$123 million in Taiwanese capital in the first five months of this year, accounting for 35% of the actual use of Taiwanese capital in Fujian.
Official data show that as of the end of 2020, Zhangzhou has approved a total of 3,232 Taiwan-funded enterprises (projects). The contracted use of Taiwanese capital was US$17.1 billion, and the actual use of Taiwanese capital exceeded US$12 billion.
Among Taiwan's top 100 companies, Formosa Plastics, Uni-President, Changchun, etc. have all invested in Zhangzhou.
In Zhangzhou-Taiwan economic and trade cooperation, Zhangzhou's agricultural cooperation with Taiwan is even more advanced in the mainland, and the use of Taiwanese capital in agriculture ranks first among the mainland's districts and cities.
Zhangzhou has become the most active area for the mainland's agricultural cooperation with Taiwan, and it is also a pioneering area for the integration and development of agriculture between Fujian and Taiwan.
As the largest orchid distribution center in Fujian Province and one of the four major orchid-producing counties in the country, Nanjing County, Zhangzhou City has a wide variety of orchids. Nanjing Fujian-Taiwan Agriculture Integration Development (Orchid) Industrial Park is the first batch of Fujian-Taiwan agriculture in Fujian Province Integrated development of industrial parks.
According to official statistics, by the end of 2020, Nanjing County has an orchid planting area of 4,350 mu, with an annual output of more than 90 million orchids, an annual output value of 1.55 billion yuan, an annual sales of 1.06 billion yuan, and more than 60,000 relevant employees.
An orchid paved the way for Nanjing flower farmers to get rich.

For more than 20 years, Zhang Dexu has witnessed the development of Nanjing orchid industry.
In an interview with a reporter from China News Agency, he said that the cultivation techniques of the farmers on both sides of the strait have their own strengths and weaknesses, and they often communicate with each other to learn from each other. The advantage of cross-strait exchanges is to bring in advanced technology and good varieties.
Zhangzhou is accelerating the deep integration of the two sides of the strait.
The relevant person in charge of the Zhangzhou Agriculture and Rural Bureau said that Zhangzhou's agricultural exchanges and cooperation with Taiwan started early, with a good foundation and advantages, and will innovate to build a number of industrial development platforms to fully promote agricultural exchanges and cooperation between Zhangzhou and Taiwan.
