In the cultural performance "The Great Journey" celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the only show that brought together actors from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, was the scene chorus "Roar Yellow River".

As a representative of Macau, soprano Liu Naiqi, together with Jackie Chan, Tong Tiexin, Angela Chang and others, led a chorus of thousands of people to complete the song "Defense of the Yellow River".

When interviewed by a reporter from China News Service, Liu Naiqi was still immersed in the shocking atmosphere, "I am very excited and proud, and I am particularly honored to be a witness and participant in this historic centennial of the founding of the party (theatrical performance)."

"This song sang the courage and invincible power of the Chinese nation." Liu Naiqi said.

When he came to Beijing in early June, Liu Naiqi didn't know what performance he wanted to participate in.

Everything is kept secret. He didn't know that he was cooperating with Jackie Chan and Angela Chang until the first time he entered the rehearsal to sing "Defend the Yellow River".

Liu Naiqi, 40, celebrated his birthday during the performance.

Since all the cast and crew are under closed management, his birthday is celebrated by one person.

He remembered very clearly that it was early in the morning when he returned to the hotel after rehearsal on June 23. "I made myself a bowl of instant noodles, which is considered longevity noodles. This sense of ritual is still necessary."

Before settling in Macau, Liu Naiqi had been living in Beijing.

As a tenor, Liu Naiqi has been active on the domestic and international opera stages.

He has performed "Turandot", "Tosca", "Carmen", "La Traviata" and other professional troupes such as China National Symphony Orchestra, National Grand Theater, Central Opera House, Chinese Opera and Dance Theater, Shanghai Opera House, etc. for nearly 20 years. A classic opera.

In 2014, Liu Naiqi was invited to participate in the Macau Comedy Opera Festival and starred in Alfred in the opera "Bat". His humorous and dramatic performances were favored by the event organizers, so he was introduced to Macau for development.

"This is fate!" Liu Naiqi said.

In the same year, he bid farewell to the familiar Beijing, came to the strange and unknown Macau, and became the director and host of Macau Lotus TV.

On the Macau Lotus Satellite TV, Liu Naiqi's first program was "Macao Singing" and acted as the host.

From singer to host, although he modestly claimed to be "catching ducks on shelves", his rich stage experience and super learning ability made him the first shot in Macau.

“In terms of culture and art, Macau is relatively weak compared to the Mainland. Macau is the location for many movies and TV series, but there are few outstanding local artworks of Macau. Macau’s artistic soil needs to be cultivated, and the art market needs to be better developed. These The status quo is difficult, but it is even more of an opportunity.” Liu Naiqi said confidently, his words are full of optimism about the potential of the Macau art market, and he is convinced that seizing the opportunity has a bright future.

In the past 7 years, he has been through the thorns in the land of Macau, and Liu Naiqi has fallen in love with this unique city.

In his view, Macau has great room for development in culture and art. With the in-depth development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the implementation of the “Belt and Road” initiative, Macau is showing unprecedented opportunities for development.

"Macao welcomes the world with a more broad and open mind and accepts diversity. Only by experiencing ups and downs and market tempering can we have a better development. In the future, my work will focus on Macao and stand firm in the Greater Bay Area. The whole country. I sincerely hope that Macau will be good, and I hope that in the future I can afford more." Liu Naiqi said.

For him, Macau is a new world full of challenges and hopes, and it is also an interesting and romantic journey of exploration.

In Macau, as a professional in the literary and art world, his talents are targeted, and his experience is useful, especially since he still has a "film dream" in his heart.

He, who is studying for a master's degree in film management at Macau University of Science and Technology, said, "I love music and film. Art is interlinked. I hope to have more opportunities to go abroad and promote Macau's diverse culture to the world." (End)
