Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has lashed out at Filipino boxing hero Senator Manny Pacquiao, whom he has always been close to, as 'dirty bastard'.

Pacquiao was furious when he raised allegations of corruption in the Tuterte regime.

According to local media and Reuters reports, President Duterte harshly criticized Pacquiao at a press conference yesterday (1st).

Duterte said, "I expect Pacquiao to sit in the Capitol. Don't go anywhere, investigate and find the corruption allegations you were talking about. If you don't, I'll say 'You're a filthy bitch'"

"A boxing champion doesn't mean he's a champion in politics either," he said.

Pacquiao, 42, is an incumbent senator and a longtime supporter of Duterte.

However, it has recently raised allegations of corruption in the government and criticized President Duterte's close ties to China.

When news broke that Duterte was outraged, Pacquiao took a step back, telling reporters that "I am not attacking the president, I am helping the president in his efforts to curb corruption."

Both are members of the ruling party 'PDP Laban', and the Philippines has a single six-year term, so President Duterte's term ends next year.
