According to the report, a day before Wesselberg was subpoenaed, a grand jury in New York filed an indictment accusing him of tax fraud charges with the Trump Organization.

During the hearing, Trump Group lawyers pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to defraud and Wesselberg pleaded not guilty to 15 charges of tax fraud.

New York prosecutors described a 15-year tax conspiracy in court and stated that they have charged 15 counts, including conspiracy to defraud, conspiracy, major theft, and falsification of business records.

The prosecutor said that Weisselberg helped plot the conspiracy in an attempt to subsidize himself and "other Trump Organization executives" with unreported income.

According to the prosecutor, he had $1.7 million in income that was not taxed in accordance with the law.

The prosecutors also stated that their evidence includes grand jury testimony, account book records, tax records, and testimony from potential witnesses.

According to reports, the case involved whether Wesselberg and other Trump Organization executives accepted allowances and benefits such as rent-free apartments and rental cars, but failed to give proper reports on their tax returns.

Dunn, the Assistant Attorney for the Manhattan District, said in court that Wesselberg's crime was part of a "thorough and bold illegal payment plan."

According to reports, Trump is facing investigations by multiple federal and state prosecutors. This case is the first lawsuit filed against the Trump Organization under his name.

Trump himself is not expected to be prosecuted.

On the 1st, accompanied by his lawyer, Wesselberg went to the Manhattan Prosecutor's Office to surrender.

The lawyer said Wesselberg will defend the charges.

There is no sign that he will cooperate with the prosecution.

Earlier on the 1st, a Trump Organization spokesperson attacked the Manhattan District Attorney Vance’s office in a statement, saying that he “is filing a criminal lawsuit involving employee benefits for the IRS and any other districts. The prosecutor never expected to mention it. This is not justice, this is politics."

On the other hand, New York State Attorney General James is also investigating the Trump Organization.

Her office previously announced that the scope of the investigation has been expanded to target potential criminal acts by the Trump Organization.
