01 July 2021 Matteo Berrettini qualifies for the third round of Wimbledon, the third round of the Grand Slam in progress on the grass fields of the All England Club. 



The 25-year-old Roman, number 9 in the world and seventh seeding force, overtakes the Dutch Botic Van De Zandschulp, number 139 of the ATP ranking and coming from the qualifications, with the score of 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) in two hours and 17 minutes. 



Berrettini will face Slovenian Aljaz Bedene, world number 64 in the 3rd round. 



Giorgi surrenders in the 2nd round


Camila Giorgi surrenders in the second round of the Wimbledon women's singles. The tennis player from Marche, world number 62, fresh from the Eastbourne semifinal, succumbed to the third set in front of Karolina Muchova. 



The tennis player from the Czech Republic, 19th seeding force, won with a score of 6-3 5-7 6-3.
