Ambassador Khaled Al-Jalahma, head of the Bahraini diplomatic mission to Israel, took the oath on Tuesday before King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The Bahrain News Agency (BNA) stated that this comes three months after the appointment of Al-Jalahma, who is the first ambassador of Manama to Tel Aviv.

According to "Banna", Al-Jalahma took the legal oath before King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at Al-Safriya Palace.

The King directed the ambassador, wishing him success in promoting Bahrain's noble message of peace and the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, according to the same source, without specifying the date of his arrival in Tel Aviv to carry out his duties.

On March 30, the Bahraini king issued two decrees establishing a diplomatic mission for his country in Israel, and appointing Al-Jalahma as its first ambassador to Tel Aviv.

The appointed ambassador has been Director of Operations at the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2017, and served as Bahrain's deputy ambassador to the United States between 2009 and 2013.

The legal oath of Bahrain's first ambassador to Israel coincides with the inauguration of an Israeli embassy in Abu Dhabi during Foreign Minister Yair Lapid's visit to the UAE.

And in mid-September, the UAE and Bahrain signed two agreements to normalize relations with Israel, during a ceremony at the White House with the participation of then US President Donald Trump.
