After a decline in the past few weeks, the corona infection process in Hesse remains at the level of the past few days.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports a minimal increase in the central indicator with significantly fewer new cases than a week ago.

The decline in new infections is particularly noticeable compared to the beginning of June.

Most of the cases below 100,000 inhabitants recorded within a week are reported by the RKI for Frankfurt.

According to the institute, only four cities and districts in all of Germany have a higher incidence than the Main metropolis.

The Vogelsberg is in the best position: It is now the only remaining Hessian region without a new case in the past seven days, after the zero in the Schwalm-Eder district is no longer there.

Safe Kids studies evaluated

The so-called Safe-Kids-Studies II and III of the state and the University Clinic Frankfurt on the spread of the coronavirus in day-care centers have meanwhile brought positive results. The spread of the alpha variant, formerly known as the British mutant, has therefore not increased the risk of infection in day care centers, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs. Study III ran from May 11th to June 11th and was voluntary. 756 children and 226 teachers took part. 2964 have been tested. “None of the PCR tests were positive.” For Study II, 5019 smears were taken for four weeks from mid-January, according to which three children had an infection that was no longer transferable. "We were able to detect individual infections especially when the incidence of the general population was high,"explains the Frankfurt virologist Sandra Ciesek.

A good 54 percent of people in Hesse have now been vaccinated against Corona at least once. With both vaccination rates, the centrally located federal state is still below the federal average. Meanwhile, the state is trying not to let the vaccination fatigue that is spreading in other countries arise in Hesse in the first place.

The German Daycare Association demands further corona protection regulations so that the care of the small children can also take place in the facilities in autumn and winter. The corona pandemic will not go away even with an increase in the vaccination quotas, said chairwoman Waltraud Weegmann of the German Press Agency in Wiesbaden. "Mutations and regional outbreaks will shape everyday life again and again in the future." It is all the more important for daycare centers, day care centers and after-school care centers to develop concepts for a new normal operation now.

The RKI reports 87 new infections in Hesse after 124 a week ago, on June 3 it had reported 447 new positive PCR tests.

Since the pandemic began in March of last year, 290,935 people in Hesse have officially been infected with a variant of the corona virus.

Around 1400 cases are still active, i.e. not over.

That's 100 less than on Wednesday.

Only Frankfurt and Offenbach and the Groß-Gerau district have an incidence of more than ten.

Frankfurt is further ahead with 17.7 after 16.4.

The RKI shows 12.3 each for Offenbach and Groß-Gerau.

The Hessen incidence increased by 0.1 points to 7.4;

Four weeks ago it was a good 41. Only Hamburg has a higher value.

The RKI reports six more deaths after 5 a week ago.

All in all, 7521 people in Hesse have officially died of or with Covid-19 so far.

According to data from the Divi Register, there were 85 people with Covid 19 disease in the Hessian intensive care units.

49 of them had to be artificially ventilated, as reported by the dpa.

Divi stands for German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine.

54.2 percent of the Hessians with the first vaccination

After an intermediate spurt, Hessen lags a little behind the federal government when it comes to vaccination: 54.2 percent of people in Hessen have so far received a first vaccination against the corona virus. Hessen is now 0.9 points below the federal average. Bremen is the front runner with 63.1 percent of those who have been vaccinated for the first time - Rhineland-Palatinate has 56. In terms of those who have been fully vaccinated, Hesse lags far behind the federal mean. Hessen has 35.5 percent, 1.8 percentage points below the average, but the gap is closing somewhat. 3.41 million people in Hesse have been vaccinated at least once, and 2.33 million are already fully vaccinated.

Resident doctors and staff have so far administered more than 1.63 million vaccinations, as the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians announced. Since the beginning of April, the general practitioners' practices in Hesse have also been vaccinated against Covid-19, a little later the specialist practices and, since June 7th, the company doctors have been added. "Now it is important not to give up: Get vaccinated as soon as you receive a vaccination offer - so that we are also prepared for the autumn", is the appeal of the state government.
