Joe Biden continues to be a Chinese on Pedro Sánchez's international agenda.

Not a courtesy call since he took office in January, the fiasco of the meeting at the last NATO summit, just a public greeting and an exchange of words without cameras and now a trip by the President of the Government to the United States, without being no type of contact with the American leader or someone from his Administration is planned.

The Spanish chief executive will visit the US between July 20 and 24 in what La Moncloa describes as an "economic tour" to promote Spain as a good place to invest.

A trip with three stops -

New York

,

Los Angeles

and

San Francisco

-, practically lightning, in which he will again be accompanied by companies, but with a more digital profile, and in which he plans to visit Apple headquarters.

An agenda with American companies and investment funds, according to La Moncloa, at a time when the economic recovery is incipient and is accelerating.

But it does not include any institutional contact - the official visit of the Kings to the US is still pending - but only, and is not yet closed, some undetermined political meeting.

There will therefore be no solution on this occasion to the image problem that the lack of relationship with Biden already supposes, which also does not reflect the good relationship that is maintained with the United States, especially since the Democrat replaced the Republican Donald Trump.

From La Moncloa they defend that there is no political dimension, although they insist that communication is very intense between the two countries.

Next week, from July 6 to 8, Sánchez will make an official visit to

Estonia

,

Latvia

and

Lithuania

, which will serve to review the bilateral relationship with the three Baltic republics, where Spanish troops are present.

The president will take advantage of the trip to meet with the leader of the Belarusian opposition in exile,

Svetlana Tijanóvskaya

, whom he could not see in Madrid last December because he was in quarantine due to a possible contagion by coronavirus in the Elíseo.

Tijanóvskaya now resides in Vilnius (Lithuania).
