The question of the veil still feeds controversy in France.

The National Assembly debated on Tuesday, June 29, an amendment to ban the wearing of the veil to assessors in polling stations.

The deputies of the different parties took turns to question each other on this subject, crossing subjects such as Islam, the body of the woman and secularism.

The Minister in charge of Citizenship, Marlène Schiappa, notably spoke with Eric Ciotti (LR), Eric Coquerel (LFI), and other speakers in the Hemicycle.

A heated debate to be found in this video from our partner Brut.
