Brazil's National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) pointed out that the cold currents will hit Brazil in the next few days, causing turbulent waves across the coast, frost and snow in parts of the south and southeast, and temperatures below zero degrees Celsius.
On the 29th local time, the mountainous area of Santa Catarina State in southern Brazil recorded the lowest temperature of minus 7.5 degrees Celsius in 2021. Snow fell for the second consecutive day, and several pieces of snow and freezing rain fell in the southwest of Parana State.
Meteorological forecasts indicate that until July 1, heavy rain and frost will occur throughout the southern region, and tropical cyclones will appear along the coast of Southern Dahe state. The waves on the southern coast are expected to be as high as 2 to 3 meters.
In the southeast, the wave height between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro’s north coast is expected to reach 2.5 meters, and rainfall will be concentrated in these two states.
