An investigation was opened after the discovery of anti-Semitic tags on Monday in a nursery school in Marsillargues (Hérault).

Swastikas, and illegible inscriptions, were traced with markers in a classroom.

The gendarmes are in charge of the investigations.

After the work of the investigators, Monday, the tags were erased by the municipality, and the students were able to join the class.

Sophie Béjean, the rector of Occitanie, "condemns with the greatest firmness these actions and these unacceptable registrations" and "assures her full support to the Jewish community and to all the staff and students of the school".

The prefect of Hérault, Jacques Witkowski, also “expressed his indignation”.
