Science and Technology Daily News (Reporter Qu Jian) At about 10:30 am on June 25th, as the underwater robot successfully opened the 1,500-meter deep underwater oil and gas valve, the oil and gas entered the production processing system through the underwater manifold, and the sea surface torch ignited, China CNOOC Chairman Wang Dongjin announced that my country’s first self-operated exploration and development of the first 1500-meter ultra-deep water gas field "Shenhai No. 1" was officially put into production.

This is a major breakthrough in my country's deep-water oil and gas development and offshore engineering equipment technology, marking the historic leap from 300-meter deep water to 1500-meter ultra-deep water in my country’s offshore oil exploration and development capabilities.

According to CNOOC, the "Deep Sea No. 1" large gas field is 150 kilometers southeast of Sanya City, Hainan Province. It was drilled and discovered in 2014 by the flagship "Offshore Oil 981" semi-submersible drilling platform of my country's offshore engineering. The proven natural gas reserves exceeded 100 billion. With a maximum water depth of more than 1,500 meters and a maximum well depth of more than 4,000 meters, it is an offshore ultra-deep water gas field with the deepest water depth and the most difficult exploration and development that my country has independently discovered so far.

It is reported that in the world, water depths of more than 300 meters are generally defined as deep water, and water depths of 1,500 meters or more are referred to as ultra-deep water.

Deep water is an important successor area for oil and gas resources. More than 70% of the world's oil and gas reserves are stored under the ocean, 40% of which are from deep water; my country's South China Sea is extremely rich in oil and gas resources, with approximately 25.1 billion tons of oil resources and approximately 36.5 trillion cubic meters of natural gas. , About half are hidden in the deep sea.

my country's deepwater oil and gas exploration and development started relatively late, but after nearly 20 years of independent innovation, CNOOC has successively overcome the three world-class oil and gas exploration and development problems of deep water, high temperature and high pressure, and formed a complete set of deep water oil and gas resource exploration and development with Chinese characteristics. The technological system has enabled my country to become one of the few countries in the world that can independently explore and develop deepwater oil and gas resources.

In order to efficiently develop the "Deep Sea No. 1" large gas field, CNOOC adopted the all-sea development model of "semi-submersible production platform + underwater production system + submarine pipeline", and customized the world's first 100,000-ton level Deepwater semi-submersible production and storage platform-"Deep Sea No. 1" energy station.

You Xuegang, general manager of CNOOC’s “Deep Sea No. 1” large gas field development project, introduced that the energy station is designed according to the high standard of “30 years without back-to-docking for overhaul”, with a designed fatigue life of 150 years, which can withstand the extreme environment of once in a thousand years. Conditions: Its maximum displacement is 110,000 tons, which is equivalent to 3 medium-sized aircraft carriers.

"It is a masterpiece of my country's marine engineering equipment technology", and achieved 3 world firsts, namely the first semi-submersible platform column oil storage, with a maximum oil storage capacity of nearly 20,000 cubic meters; the world's largest span semi-submersible platform truss type assembly Block; the first time on land to use the wet semi-seat pier big closure technology in the dock.

At the same time, it achieved 13 domestic first technology applications, and refreshed the world's fastest construction speed of the same type of platform.

The completion and commissioning of the "Deep Sea No. 1" energy station can promote the development of new deepwater gas fields such as Lingshui 25-1 in the surrounding area, forming a cluster of gas fields. Relying on the established main artery connecting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Hainan Free Trade Port natural gas pipeline network, Maximize the development, production and transmission of natural gas resources.

It is estimated that by 2025, the proven reserves of natural gas in the three basins of Yinggehai, Qiongdongnan, and Pearl River Mouth in the South my country Sea will reach 1 trillion cubic meters, creating a "trillion-yuan atmosphere in the South China Sea."

CNOOC revealed that after the "Deep Sea No. 1" gas field is put into operation, the natural gas produced will be connected to the national natural gas pipeline network through submarine pipelines. It will provide a steady supply of 3 billion cubic meters of gas to Guangdong, Hong Kong, Qiong and other places each year, which can meet the needs of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. A quarter of the gas demand for civilian use has increased the natural gas supply capacity of the South China Sea to more than 13 billion cubic meters per year, which is equivalent to 2.6 times the annual gas consumption of Hainan Province.
