From Monday to Friday in Media Culture, Eva Roque gives you her TV tips for the evening.

This Thursday, she offers us two programs focused on the art of stories and, conversely, art stories.

The musicians of the Baobab Orchestra on France 5 at 11:30 pm and the artists of "Pulse" on arte.tv.

What theme emerges from the evening programs?

The art of stories and, conversely, of art stories.

It all starts in Senegal.

Turn up the volume this Thursday evening on France 5 with the Orchestra Baobab. Take the time especially to discover the history of this African formation born in the 70s and whose destiny is closely linked to that of the power in place. An incredible musical story told by the members of this group which continues to make the planet dance thanks to African and Latin sounds. Beings thirsty for freedom. They were young, they were crazy, they loved parties and girls. President Senghor measures this desire for freedom. Under his presidency, the Baobab club was created in the center of Dakar. A sort of English club bringing together all the best musicians. They assert themselves, become stars in Africa, until the club closed in 1979. Orchestra Baobab gradually disappears. In 2001, producer Nick Gold,at the origin of the Buena Vista Social Club, revives African training. Exciting historical and musical documentary.

What awaits you on arte.tv is too.

A new documentary series entitled "Pulse / Impulse".

Meetings with a new generation of artists who tell their creative process like hip-hop dancer Salif Gueye.

He goes back to his sources of inspiration.

Whoever made himself known by performing a perfect moonwalk (a video shared millions of times) has an infectious joy.

Just like the other artists who tell their story in less than 7 minutes in these extremely well staged pastilles.

To sum up :

The musicians of the Baobab Orchestra on France 5 at 11:30 pm and the artists of "Pulse" on arte.tv.
