The Briton Marc Cavendish won the 4th stage of the Tour de France on Tuesday in Fougères after a massive sprint, the Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin) retaining the yellow jersey won two days earlier.

At 36, and after an eclipse of five seasons, the sprinter of the Deceuninck-Quick Step formation wins his 31st stage in the Tour de France, only three units behind the record for stage victories held by Eddy Merckx (34).
