The appointment takes place a week after the granting of pardons to the leaders of the

The president of the
Generalitat
brought, among his requests, an amnesty law and self-determination, issues that
La Moncloa
rejects in principle
, claiming that dialogue must take place within the legal and constitutional framework.
Pere Aragonès himself and the Government spokesperson, María Jesús Montero, will give an account of the content of the meeting.

In La Moncloa they had hopes that the meeting would channel the "reunion agenda" that La Moncloa is leading.
That despite being an almost formal appointment - the custom is that the chief executive receives the regional presidents after their inauguration - certain questions or issues to be discussed at the future dialogue table could be set.
The Government's commitment is to focus the dialogue on economic aspects -financing, taxation, infrastructures-;
social - housing, gag law, powers - and self-government, an issue in which they believe there is matter to deepen and achieve pacts.
In this regard, the PSOE has accepted in the dialogue with the nationalists to save uncomfortable obstacles for them, such as, for example, language could be. In the so-called Pedralbes declaration, the agreement reached by the Government of Pedro Sánchez in 2018 with the Generalitat to resume the dialogue, there was talk of seeking solutions "within the framework of legal security", without express mention of the
Constitution
. The pact between ERC and PSOE for the last inauguration of Sánchez alludes to "respect for the instruments and principles that govern the democratic legal system."
This ERC-PSOE pact includes a table of governments in which "all parties will freely contribute their detailed proposals".
This wording allows the pro-independence supporters to want to debate the self-determination referendum, an option that is ruled out to validate from the Government.
The route contemplated, as stated in the agreement, is that the pact that could come out of this negotiation is submitted to a vote by the Catalans.
A week has passed since the granting of the pardons and the staging and the messages launched by the independence leaders do not vary.
To the amnesty and self-determination they now add the battle against the
Court of Accounts
for its resolution in which it orders the independentistas to deposit 5.42 million under penalty of embargo for alleged embezzlement.
In the Government they would prefer that, above all, ERC lower the tone and adopt a more "realistic" speech, but they close ranks with Sánchez's decision to promote negotiations with the Generalitat.
"Nobody expected the conflict to be resolved in a week," said Juan Carlos Campo, Minister of Justice.
"We must equip ourselves with serenity", has been the cloak that has thrown the independentistas.
In the Executive they admit the "risks" of the strategy and the uncertainty of the final result of the operation, but they assume that "there was no alternative. We are hopeful and hope that each step is better than the previous one."
