It was at 20.22 that the police received the alarm that a man was moving in the area around Nyhem in the central parts of Halmstad.
The man was described as aggressive and affected, and wore a large kitchen knife.
According to information, some children must have played outside a pizzeria and the man must have told them to stop and then followed them and their mother into the pizzeria.
The man managed to leave the place before the police showed up, but they were soon able to locate him at a nearby address.
Police fired warning shots
When the police confronted the man, a riot broke out.
A police officer fired a shot, and the same police officer suffered a dental injury from the man.
The knife man is taken to hospital for review of his injuries, which the police believe he caused himself.
According to the police, blood samples will probably be taken to examine whether the man is affected by something.
Investigation is in place
The man has been arrested and is suspected of threatening an official.
