The Vector Center has submitted documents for registration of another vaccine against coronavirus infection - EpiVacCorona-N, follows from the data of the state register of medicines of the Ministry of Health.

The description of the new drug says that it was created on the basis of peptide antigens and is intended for the prevention of COVID-19.

The agent is available in the form of a suspension for intramuscular administration.

Recall that in October 2020, the EpiVacCorona vaccine was registered in Russia, which became the second Russian drug for the prevention of coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health granted permission to conduct clinical trials of the EpiVacCorona-N vaccine in April.

As follows from the registry data, the research began on April 8 and should end on September 30, 2021.

In May, the head of the Vector Center, Rinat Maksyutov, explained that the first results of clinical trials of the EpiVacCorona-N vaccine can be expected not earlier than autumn, since we are talking about a vaccination scheme with three injections.

According to him, 81 days pass between the first and third vaccinations.

The "lambda" strain has not been identified in Russia

On June 28, the center also said that no cases of the new strain of COVID-19 "lambda" were detected in Russia.

We will remind, earlier in the UK reported six confirmed cases of infection with the "lambda" strain.

British doctors said that there is no evidence of more serious complications caused by this option, or a decrease in the effectiveness of the available vaccines against it.

The "Vector" also said that the study of the properties of the strain "lambda" continues.

“Since June 14 this year, it is being considered by the World Health Organization as an option of interest.

In the Russian Federation, no cases of this type of SARS-CoV-2 have been reported, ”the Vector concluded.

Recall that over the past 24 hours, 21,650 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Russia.

In terms of daily growth, the leaders are Moscow (7246), Moscow Region (2722) and St. Petersburg (1335).

In total, 5,472,941 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the Russian Federation since the beginning of the pandemic.

Costs of fighting coronavirus and vaccination issues

The spending of the Russian health care system on combating coronavirus exceeded 1 trillion rubles, said the head of the Ministry of Health Mikhail Murashko in an interview with Channel One.

“It was in the health care system that we spent more than 1 trillion rubles,” the minister explained.

Murashko also said that there are more than 23 million vaccinated in Russia.

According to him, in recent days, the speed of the vaccination campaign "has increased greatly."

We will remind, earlier the mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin said that the number of people wishing to be vaccinated daily in the capital reaches 86 thousand people on weekdays.

The Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov, in turn, spoke about the increase in the number of people wishing to be vaccinated against coronavirus up to 20 thousand per day.

“We have reached the level of nearly 20 thousand vaccinated per day.

It is important to maintain it in the coming months.

This will give us the opportunity to bring down the third wave of coronavirus, ”he said.

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia, also spoke about the situation with the coronavirus in the country.

In particular, in his remarks, he mentioned the growing demand for PCR tests and vaccines.

“The spasmodic demand for PCR tests is associated with the outbreak of coronavirus, which we are now experiencing in many cities, including large ones,” said Peskov.

According to him, "this, of course, is a very significant additional burden on laboratories and medical institutions."

He noted that the demand for vaccinations "has also grown significantly, has grown in leaps and bounds, so this requires additional solutions, additional energetic efforts in order to provide for everyone."

According to him, "these efforts are being made."

Peskov also said that in Russia, de facto and de jure, there is no mass vaccination for all citizens of the Russian Federation.

According to him, only decisions of individual regions on workers in a number of industries are in force in the country.

“Regions are introducing conditions for work in some industries.

But this is not a mandatory vaccination for all citizens.

This is the de facto and de jure situation, ”he told reporters.
