[Explanation] On June 28, the first batch of units of the Baihetan Hydropower Station was officially put into operation for power generation. The hydropower station is the world's largest in scale of construction, the world's largest single-unit capacity, and the world's second-largest installed capacity.
[Explanation] Baihetan Hydropower Station is located at the junction of Qiaojia County, Yunnan Province and Ningnan County, Sichuan Province, with a total installed capacity of 16 million kilowatts, second only to the world's number one Three Gorges Project.
Among them, Harbin Electric Group Co., Ltd. is responsible for the development of eight 1 million kilowatt units on the right bank of Baihetan Hydropower Station.

The capacity of this single machine has reached one million kilowatts, which is a new world record.
This unit has completely independent intellectual property rights. Starting from the right bank of the Three Gorges, we completely rely on our own R&D and manufacturing, and then step by step to the current Baihetan million kilowatts.
All of these key core technologies, such as the all-air cooling technology of generators, and the core technology of our water turbine runners are all independently developed by us.
[Explanation] According to reports, the Baihetan Hydropower Station will provide electricity for more than 100 million people a day after all units are put into operation, saving about 19.68 million tons of standard coal annually and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 51.6 million tons.
[Explanation] Baihetan Hydropower Station is a major national project for the implementation of "West-East Power Transmission". It will be fully put into operation in July 2022 and will be combined with the Three Gorges, Gezhouba, and Jinsha River Wudongde, Xiluodu, and Xiangjiaba hydropower stations. The world’s largest clean energy corridor.
