Regional in France: in Île-de-France, the union of the left was not enough for victory

The union of the three candidates classified on the left, Audrey Pulvar (PS), Julien Bayou (EELV) and Clémentine Autain (LFI) was not enough to delight the region to Valérie Pécresse (LR).

If the left retained at the end of the second round the regions it led in metropolitan France, it has however failed to impose itself elsewhere.

And especially in Île-de-France where the rally was held behind the national secretary of the Greens, Julien Bayou.

A failure for the union of the left and for environmentalists.

The coalition of the left has indeed failed, struggling even to go beyond the simple addition of its scores from the first round.

But it could have been worse, according to Insoumise Clémentine Autain.

 Since the five-year term of François Hollande, there has been a collapse of the left vote.

Despite this collapse, something is being reconstituted, being rebuilt, and that's what gives us hope! 

"

In search of union for 2022

A hope that Elodie Bouzid, just elected regional environmental advisor, hopes to see materialize next year.

I'm not saying that union is going to be easy for the left, but if it was possible here, why not elsewhere?

And I hope that for the presidential elections we will have a union of the left again. 

"

But under what leadership?

That of the Greens obviously for Julien Bayou, in view of the good environmental scores recorded during these regional and the demonstrated capacity for consensus.

 I believe that this gathering around ecology and solidarity is a real important milestone, a bearer of hope.

 "

However, it will be necessary to convince the rebels and especially the Socialists who have won five regions where all the top ecologists have failed.
