June 28, 2021God "approaches with love to each of his children, to each and every one of them. His heart is open to each and everyone. He is Father". Thus Pope Francis in a short autograph letter in Spanish sent to the Jesuit father James Martin, who carries out his apostolate among LGBT people, on the occasion of the "Outreach 2021" webinar, held yesterday.

The priest published the letter on Twitter today. "God's 'style' - are the pope's words, reported by Vatican News - has three traits: closeness, compassion and tenderness. This is the way he approaches each of us. Thinking about your pastoral work, I see that you continually seek to imitate this style of God. You are a priest for all and all, as God is the Father of all and all. I pray for you that you may continue in this way, being close, compassionate and with much tenderness ".

Francis thanks Father Martin for his pastoral zeal and for his "ability to be close to people with that closeness that Jesus had and that reflects the closeness of God. I pray for your faithful, your 'parishioners' - concludes the Pope - all those whom the Lord has placed next to you so that you take care of them, protect them and make them grow in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ ".
