• Boat rescue with 130 migrants off the coast of Lampedusa

28 June 2021 Double landing in Lampedusa for a total of 99 migrants arrived.



55 were rescued by a patrol boat of the Guardia di Finanza and, shortly after, 44 by a unit of the Coast Guard. All are originally from Bangladesh. Seven of them are ill and were immediately taken to the emergency room of the Outpatient Clinic where, as a first check, they will be subjected to a rapid anti-Covid swab.



In the hotspot of the island, at the moment, there are 399 guests against an expected maximum capacity of 250. The prefecture of Agrigento is evaluating the transfer procedures.
