The mainland added 12 new confirmed cases from Taiwan in a week, Taiwan media: the island’s “missing detection rate” is too high

[Global Times Special Correspondent Zhang Ruo] After the outbreak of the new crown epidemic in the mainland, the DPP authorities restricted the cross-strait routes from Taiwan to the mainland to only Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Chengdu.

As a result, since the outbreak of the epidemic in Taiwan in May, except for Beijing, confirmed cases from Taiwan have been continuously found in the other three cities.

According to a report by Taiwan’s "Central News Agency" on the 26th, the official website of the Xiamen Municipal Health Commission of Fujian Province reported on the same day that there were 4 new imported cases in Xiamen on the 25th, all from Taiwan.

Two of them took the Xiamen Airlines flight from Taipei Songshan Airport to Xiamen on the 20th, and the other two took the Lirong Airlines flight on the 21st.

They were quarantined immediately after entering the country, and the nucleic acid test results were positive.

According to the report, as of the 25th, Xiamen has reported a total of 266 confirmed imported cases overseas, of which 29 have been imported from Taiwan.

The "United Daily News" stated on the 27th that in the past week (18-24), the mainland has found a total of 12 confirmed cases from Taiwan, and 2 cases of asymptomatic infection, setting a new high in the past month, even more than the previous week. It is twice as high (not including the 4 new cases in Fujian on the 26th).

On the 27th, the Fujian Health Commission also announced that there were 4 newly imported confirmed cases, including 2 imported from Taiwan.

In addition, the Mainland’s National Health Commission notified on the 25th that 24 newly confirmed cases were confirmed on the 24th, all of which were imported from abroad. Among them, Shanghai and Chengdu, Sichuan each reported confirmed imported cases from Taiwan.

Earlier, there was even a Taiwanese passenger who had a positive nucleic acid test report and was able to fly from Taipei Songshan to Xiamen. He was only diagnosed after arriving in Xiamen.

In the most serious case, a Taiwanese man was tested for delta mutant virus in Macau, but he was negative in three samples in Taiwan.

The "United Daily News" commented that Taiwan's "export" of confirmed cases is not new. Last year, they occurred in Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand. However, the Taiwan Epidemic Prevention Command Center did not admit it once, only saying that it was a false positive. This time I am more honest, admitting that 6 of Xiamen’s cases have been diagnosed in Taiwan, and they should be in the “time overwhelming and sometimes yang” stage. “The problem is that such confirmed patients will be released from the hospital casually. Are they afraid of spreading everywhere?” , Cut off many cross-strait air routes, and prevented Taiwanese businessmen and their families in Wuhan from returning to Taiwan. "Who can imagine that Taiwan will become a place of'export' epidemic in a year? How ironic!" The article says that Taiwan "exports" so much Those who are diagnosed must be taken seriously. Imagine that if these people leave the country without incident, they have a negative nucleic acid test certificate in their hands. In addition to showing that our screening accuracy is insufficient, it also proves that Taiwan’s “missed detection rate” is too high. In short, we didn’t find out by ourselves, and relying on others to help us catch it. This is very bad, especially since the death rate of Taiwan’s new crown is twice the world average. Experts believe that there must be a lot of "black numbers" that have not been discovered. "Aren't these diagnosed people who exported all the black numbers?"
