  Dhaka Police Chief Shafik said that at least 7 people were killed in the explosion and at least 50 others were injured. The injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment.

  A person in charge of the local fire department said that the explosion may be caused by the air conditioning in the building.

Another source said that there is a fast food restaurant on the ground floor of the building, and the leak of gas pipes or gas cylinders used in the shop may also cause an explosion.
