It was in a survey about the work environment that one of the police employees in Västernorrland stated that she had been sexually harassed.

When asked what happened, she said that her colleague's sexual harassment had been going on for seven years.

The male colleague had sent nude photos of himself but also pawed at the woman.

During the past year, the unwanted behavior had ceased and the woman stated that she believed that someone else had reported the man.

Refuses to point out the man

A preliminary investigation into sexual harassment was initiated, but the woman refused to report the colleague or state his name in the interrogations.

She believes that what the man has done is completely wrong, but that she does not want to be the one to ensure that he is separated from his service.

She says in the interrogations that she has seen on the news that those who report often happen worse than those who are suspected and she does not want to tell in more detail what the man did, who he is or who has seen what happened.

When the interrogators point to the fact that she is actually working for an authority whose task is to prevent and investigate crimes, the woman says that she is aware of it but that she does not feel that it is worth it.

During the investigation, it emerged that another female police officer had received unwanted nude photos from the same man.

This woman did not want to make a report either.

The investigation is closed

As the women refuse to participate in the investigation, the preliminary investigation against the man was dropped.

The affected local police area will now have special reviews with all employees about the guidelines against violations.

- We have talked to this person that we understand that it is about, who has not been formally designated.

In part, it is a jargon that has gone far too far and we take it very seriously, says police area chief Kenneth Bergquist to the news agency Siren.
