China News Service, Paris, June 27 (Reporter Li Yang) The second round of voting for the 2021 regional and provincial assembly elections in France will be held on the 27th local time.

The turnout rate for this vote is still low.

As of 12:00 local time on the 27th (6:00 pm on the 27th, Beijing time), the national voter turnout rate was only 12.66%, which was lower than the turnout rate during the 2015 election (19.59%) and only slightly higher than the first round of voting. Segment turnout rate (12.22%).

As of now, the voter turnout rate in the Paris region is less than 9%.

The region with the highest voter turnout in France is Corsica, at 24.87%.

The abstention rate in the first round of the election was 66.74%, which was significantly higher than the 50% abstention rate in 2015.

Political analysts believe that there are many reasons why voters do not vote, and the new crown epidemic may also be one of the reasons.

French officials have repeatedly called on voters to actively participate in the second round of voting.

French President Macron took part in the vote in the rain in the town of Le Touquet in the Pas-de-Calais province of northern France that day. French Prime Minister Caste, Minister of the Interior Dalmanin, far-right party leader Marina Le Pen, and far-left party leader May Langxiong and Pekeres, chairman of the Paris Regional Council who are seeking re-election, have participated in the vote.

Among the 13 regions of the French mainland, the center-left and center-right camps led the 5 regions through the first round of voting, basically maintaining the political basics of the regional assembly elections.

In the first round of voting, the French Republican Party got 29.3% of the votes, the Socialist Party got 16.5% of the votes, and the Green Party got 13.2% of the votes.

The far-right party "National League" led by Marina Le Pen got 19.1% of the votes in the first round of voting, and only achieved a slight lead in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region in southern France.

The Green Party candidates withdrew from the second round of voting in the regional assembly elections, a move considered by outsiders to make it more difficult for the "National League" candidates to win the election.

Elections for the regional and provincial assemblies of France are held every six years.
