This Monday, the appeal trial of Laurent Dejean opens before the Assize Court of Tarn, in Albi. For two weeks, the jurors will review the "serious and concordant clues" which led this man, now aged 42, to the accused's box for the murder of Patricia Bouchon and his conviction in March 2019 at 20 years old. of criminal imprisonment.

On February 14, 2011, this secretary in a Toulouse law firm disappeared while she was doing her morning 4.5 km jog in Bouloc.

Her husband, very worried not to see her return, immediately alerted the gendarmes.

The next evening, traces of blood, torn hair and personal effects of the victim were found in a dead end not far from his home, where during the night residents had heard cries and a man repeating several times "excuse -me, excuse me ”, followed by tears.

45 days later, the body of the 49-year-old mother was found by a hunter, hidden in a buzzard 12 km from the place of her disappearance.

After a long investigation, and several police custody, Laurent Dejean, a 34-year-old plasterer with psychiatric disorders, was indicted in February 2015.

A Clio and lies

While he has always proclaimed his innocence, his attitude, but also some of his lies, had led investigators to take an interest in him.

He had indeed long denied being in possession of a Clio at the time of the facts.

However, a car of this type had been seen by a driver at the scene of the crime, white or gray this will be the subject of debate.

According to this key witness, she was with all lights off and the driver must have swerved to avoid her.

Questioned by the gendarmes, the witness had allowed them to establish a composite image broadcast in October 2013. And it is this broadcast that will relaunch the Laurent Dejean track.

An anonymous call will indeed denounce this inhabitant of Bouloc.

A total of 37 people, including his ex-girlfriend, will find some resemblance to the suspect.

The young woman will also confirm to them that Laurent Dejean was in possession of a Clio in February 2011 and that he got rid of it shortly after.

During the hearings of his co-workers, investigators will discover a man in the grip of mood swings, but also who can lie.

Lack of evidence

While he was interned in psychiatry a few days after the murder, he told his boss that if he did not come back it was because of tendonitis.

Diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, at the material time he consumed narcotics and regularly crisscrossed the roads at night in search of products at the wheel of his Clio.

But if these facts are disturbing, no material evidence links Laurent Dejean to the murder of Patricia Bouchon.

At the first trial, the Advocate General had also requested an acquittal "lack of evidence".

This is also what defends his new lawyer who speaks of miscarriage of justice.
