The abstention in the regional and departmental elections repeats Sunday its record for the first round, with a minimal rebound of a little more than a point of participation, and confirms its dizzying rise since the polls of 2015.

It is between 64.3 and 65.5% in the second round against 66.7% in the first round, according to estimates by Ifop Fiducial for TF1 / LCI, Elabe for BFM / RMC, Opinionway for CNews, Ipsos for France Télévisons Radio France and the Parliamentary Channel.

The Harris Institute for M6 is the one that gives the lowest abstention at 64.3%.

According to official figures, participation at 5:00 p.m. was 27.89% in mainland France, one point more than in the first round (26.72%) and in free fall compared to the regional ones of December 2015 (50 , 54%) and departmental in March 2015 (41.92%).

These figures confirm the fears of a record abstention already recorded in the first round for this double ballot placed 10 months before the presidential election, leaving doubt about its outcome, including in Paca where the duel is tight between the RN list of Thierry Mariani and LR of the outgoing Renaud Muselier.

In this region, participation in the second round is 32.95%, two points more than in the first (30.64%).

As in the first round, apart from Paca, the largest participation was recorded in Corsica (48.61%), and in Occitania 31.33%.

Next come Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (30.98%), Brittany (30.64%) and New Aquitaine (30.56%).

On the other hand, it is in the Grand Est (22.32%), in Ile-de-France (23.67%), and in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (26.63%) that we voted the least .

Some 48 million French people are called to the polls to elect their regional and departmental advisers for the next six years.
