The dynamics of the first round have been confirmed.

Outgoing president Christelle Morancais (Les Républicains) was re-elected this Sunday evening at the head of the Pays-de-la-Loire regional council, according to a poll taken out of the polls Ipsos Sopra Steria.

With 46.3% of the vote, the candidate, 46, is well ahead of Matthieu Orphelin (EELV-PS-LFI) who, for his part, would total only 34.5%.

A difference large enough not to doubt the final result known at the end of the evening.

Christelle Morancais also announced her victory at 8:10 p.m., from the regional hotel.

"I thank the voters and want to tell those who did not vote for me that I will be a rally president," she commented, serene.

It is the result of a campaign of sincerity, with a lot of determination and also humility.

A victory against a hard left, which has lost its compass.

I have a message for the right: this liberal, European right, when it is united, it wins.

It must not shrink.

"

As a reminder, this is the first electoral victory of Christelle Morancais on her behalf in the regional since she had taken over from Bruno Retailleau, constrained by the law on the plurality of mandates, in October 2017.
