One more sign, if one were needed, of the ever-growing tension between crack users, currently concentrated in the Jardin d'Eole, near Place Stalingrad, and residents of this district of the 19th arrondissement of Paris. .

At around 4 p.m. on Saturday, drug addicts were the target of mortar fire, apparently from a group of around 20 people.

One of them was arrested and taken into custody, the others are still wanted.

While no injuries are to be deplored, this violence is symptomatic of an ever-increasing tension in this neighborhood where around 150 drug addicts live.

About ten days ago, a two-year-old child was injured in the eye and cheek by a woman under the influence of this particularly addictive drug.

An interim solution

In mid-May, the authorities decided, to relieve the Parisians living on the outskirts of Place Stalingrad, to bring together these crack users in the Eole garden, an area a little further from the first dwellings, where they were already. very numerous during the day.

The latter benefit in particular, at the back of the park, from a space reserved for them, to the chagrin of local residents.

Anne Hidalgo had pledged that drug addicts leave the park by June 30, but for the time being no replacement location has been communicated.
