21 June 2021 House arrest for Alessio Spaziano, the 25-year-old truck driver arrested on Friday for having hit and killed with his truck, in Biandrate (Novara), the trade unionist Adil Belakhdim. This was decided by the judge at the end of the hearing to validate the arrest held this morning in the Novara prison.
The interrogation in the Novara prison lasted for about three hours, during which the truck driver reconstructed what happened on Friday morning, at the entrance to the Lidl distribution center in Biandrate. The young man repeatedly said he was sorry and stated that he had no intention of investing anyone. "My client has provided the maximum cooperation", reiterates his lawyer, Gabriele de Juliis. Spaziano is accused of street murder and resistance.

"In any case, a precautionary detention measure was applied that the judge evidently considered sufficient to avoid the danger of recidivism. We do not seek revenge, the important thing is that justice and clarity are done". The lawyer Eugenio Losco, lawyer who assists Assia Lucia Marzocca, the wife of Adil Belakhdim, says this, commenting on the judge's decision. "In any case, house arrest is a serious and important measure - continues the lawyer Losco - I am surprised instead that the prosecutor has discarded the protest of voluntary homicide and has kept only that of road homicide".
