The activities of the first edition of the Qatar Economic Forum, which will be held via video communication technology and last for three days, kicked off this afternoon, amid great local and international participation.

In his speech during the opening session of the forum, the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, said that the world has not yet moved to the post-Corona pandemic stage.

Sheikh Tamim added during the forum, which is held in cooperation with Bloomberg under the slogan "Reimagining the World", that the role of the state is indispensable in overcoming the challenges associated with the pandemic.

Many heads of state and government will participate in the first edition of the forum, including Ghanaian President Nana Akufo, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Rwandan President Paul Kagame, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Senegalese President Macky Sall and Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, in addition to more than 100 people. The Qatar Economic Forum aims to prepare plans that support the growth of the global economy during the post-pandemic phase, and shed light on the efforts of the State of Qatar to lead economic growth, achieve comprehensive development goals, and consolidate its position as one of the most important investment destinations regionally and globally.
