Savoie and Haute-Savoie have experienced a black series in recent days in their most emblematic lakes.

Three people drowned in 24 hours in the two neighboring departments of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, firefighters indicate this Sunday.

A 19-year-old young man first died on Friday afternoon, while bathing in Lake Bourget (Savoie), on the unsupervised beach of Brison-Saint-Innocent.

Then Saturday morning, firefighters recovered the body of a 69-year-old man who was swimming in Lake Annecy (Haute-Savoie).

Helpers managed to get him out of the water and revive him, but he eventually died in Chambéry hospital.

Heavy toll

Saturday evening, the body of a 32-year-old man was found this time 30 meters deep in Lake Aiguebelette (Savoie), after several hours of research.

The firefighters had been alerted a few hours earlier by a friend of the victim, who had seen him sink while he was paddling with him.

This assessment could increase to four victims, since the gendarmes are looking into the causes of the death of a 50-year-old woman, found Saturday morning in Lake Bourget.
