Frenchman Ugo Humbert won the Halle grass tournament on Sunday, beating Russian Andrey Rublev 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) in the final.

It is the best victory of the career of the 22-year-old Messin, and his first in an event in the ATP 500 category.

Unlike his other matches at Halle this week, Humbert only needed two sets to overcome Rublev, 7th in the world.

Thanks to this victory, the left-hander will climb from 31st to 25th place in the ATP ranking.

Ugo Humbert concluded in style a tournament during which he also managed to beat another member of the Top 10, Alexander Zverev (6th), in the second round.

One week away from Wimbledon, this is his third title after Antwerp (indoors) and Auckland (hard outdoors) in 2020.
