The 2012 Olympic pole vault champion Renaud Lavillenie won the competition at the Chorzow meeting (Poland) on Sunday with a jump to 5.92 m, the best of his summer season.

After passing 5.86m on the second try, Lavillenie cleared 5.92m on the first shot before failing three times at 6m.

He won the competition in front of his brother Valentin (5.80 m).

Staggered in his preparation due to an injury that occurred this winter, it was only the fourth outdoor competition in 2021 for Renaud Lavillenie.

After a high-flying indoor season (6.06 m successful), he is 34 years old aiming for a third Olympic medal in Tokyo (23 July - 8 August) after gold in 2012 and silver in 2016.

French half-cross-country skier Rénelle Lamote, two-time European 800m vice-champion, confirmed her comeback in great form this season with third place in a very tough race in 1 min 58 sec 11. It is the second best time of his career just ten hundredths of a second off his 5-year-old record.

Wilhem Belocian won the 110 m hurdles in 13 sec 35 (-0.1 m / s of wind).

The Polish Patryk Dobek, a former 400m hurdles runner who successfully passed the 800m for a few months (European indoor champion this winter), achieved the best world performance of the season on the double lap in 1 min 43 sec 73.
