Yahya Al-Sinwar, head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, said that the Palestinian people will soon meet with victory and liberation and pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque due to the achievements of the resistance, while the Israeli cabinet meets to discuss the security situation in the Strip.
Sinwar said, during a conference of dignitaries and clans in Gaza, that the character of the Palestinians has not changed due to the campaigns of Arab normalization with the Israeli occupation.
He pointed out that the people of Gaza were the ones who achieved victory, with the oppression, hunger, siege and destruction they endured over the past years.
On the other hand, the Israeli mini-ministerial council for security affairs meets today for the first time under the new government, to discuss the security situation with the Gaza Strip.
Israeli media sources said that the meeting will discuss scenarios that will be presented by the leaders of the security services and the army to deal with Gaza, including presenting a plan drawn up by the Israeli army for renewed fighting in Gaza. The meeting will also discuss the mechanism of introducing Qatari financial aid to the Strip.
This comes after the new Israeli government held its first meeting since it was granted confidence and took the constitutional oath last Sunday.
On May 21, a ceasefire began between the Palestinian factions and Israel under Egyptian auspices, ending an 11-day military confrontation.
The Palestinian factions demanded a complete lifting of the siege on Gaza and allow the reconstruction process, but Israel linked allowing reconstruction and returning 4 prisoners held by Hamas in Gaza, which the latter rejected, as it demands the conclusion of a prisoner exchange deal.
Last weekend, Israel launched raids on Hamas-affiliated sites, and said that this was in response to the launching of incendiary balloons from the Strip.
