“The Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy in Georgia calls on Georgian NGOs, NGOs or educational organizations specializing in media literacy to work with video studios to submit applications for a project up to 18 months in duration to produce animated series aimed at developing media literacy among young people and critical thinking skills ", - specified in the text.

The State Department is convinced that in an environment dominated by "inaccurate news stories", including "Russian disinformation and propaganda," it is extremely important to help young people analyze the news and identify "reliable" resources.

It is noted that this can be facilitated by "entertaining and exciting" animation.

It should be aimed primarily at schoolchildren, students, as well as their parents - as far as possible, the State Department notes.

The videos created within the program will be distributed through digital, social platforms and using traditional media.

As specified, the content should contain narratives widespread in Georgia, including on the theme of Russia and the "supposedly" harmful influence of the West on the national traditions and customs of the republic.

Episodes of the series, according to the document, can be released once or twice a week to "build audience affection" for the product.

The total budget of the initiative is $ 200 thousand, follows from the description of the grant.

Earlier it was reported about the intention of the US Department of State to allocate $ 450 thousand for the implementation of projects aimed at the development of digital diplomacy, media literacy and the establishment of gender equality in Georgia.
