Thousands of people marched through the streets of Warsaw this Saturday, June 19 for the LGBT + Pride March.

A march for equality canceled last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic and which finally took place this year in the presence in particular of the mayor of the capital.

Participants denounced a climate of hatred established by the Conservative government.

They are thousands gathered in front of the Palace of Culture in the center of the Polish capital, where a large rainbow-colored flag has been hung.

In the crowd, Pawel, a young man of 20: “

I am part of the LGBTQ + community, and in Poland the situation is horrible, it is getting worse day by day.

Our government is horribly homophobic.

It is for this reason that I participate in these kinds of events, it is to fight for our rights.

 "

During the last two campaigns, legislative and presidential, the conservative Law and Justice party has repeatedly attacked the LGBT community.

Words not without consequence according to Julia, a 26-year-old Polish woman.

All fear that the government will adopt a law like the one passed a few days ago in Hungary, prohibiting the promotion of homosexuality among minors.
